If you invested through Shojin, the first question is which company your money went to. Two Shojin companies went into administration on the same day, and investors' money was placed in separate project companies. This guide sets out how to tell them apart and where each is recorded. Our issuer record for Shojin Financial Services Limited has the full company details.

Which Shojin company did I invest with?

The company named in your paperwork is the one your investment relates to. Look in your terms and conditions, account statements and confirmation emails for the full company name and number. ShareIn, the Innovative Finance ISA manager for Shojin investors, states that investors "invested into individual SPV entities linked to each project", and that those SPVs are not in administration. An SPV, or special purpose vehicle, is a separate company set up for one project. So your paperwork may name a project company rather than Shojin Financial Services Limited or Shojin Property Partners Limited. Each is a separate company with its own number.

How are Shojin Financial Services and Shojin Property Partners connected?

They are separate companies in the same group. The parent of Shojin Financial Services Limited is Shojin Holdings Limited (12759875), which is active. Shojin Property Partners Limited is in its own administration. The project companies are separate again.

What did the FCA say about Shojin Financial Services?

The FCA stated on 30 March 2026: "Shojin Financial Services Limited (Shojin) is a crowdfunding platform authorised and regulated by the FCA" and "On 23 March 2026, Shojin went into administration." The FCA register shows the firm has been authorised since 7 August 2017, firm reference 716765, with a notice that it is in an insolvency process and that requirements or restrictions apply to it.

What does administration mean for platform investors?

Administration means licensed insolvency practitioners have taken control of the company in place of its directors. They manage its affairs, assets and creditor claims, under Schedule B1 of the Insolvency Act 1986. Where an investor stands depends on how the investment was set up and which company holds it. The administrators' proposals, filed at Companies House on 20 May 2026, set out their plan. The public record does not show what any individual investor will receive.

What can you do now?

1. Find your company. Check your agreement and note which company and company number it names: Shojin Financial Services Limited, Shojin Property Partners Limited, or a project company. 2. Gather your papers. Keep your agreement, proof of payment, account screenshots, emails and statements together. 3. Contact the administrators of that company, using the details on its Gazette notice (5091205 or 5091208). Send your name, the amount invested and the date of your agreement. 4. If you hold an Innovative Finance ISA, read ShareIn's information for Shojin investors. 5. Be careful with offers of help. People who have lost money are often approached by firms offering to recover it for a fee. Do not pay anyone upfront for a promise to get your money back.

How can you check the status yourself?

1. Go to the Companies House page for Shojin Financial Services Limited or Shojin Property Partners Limited. 2. Check the company status. It currently reads "In Administration". 3. Open the Insolvency tab to see the case start date and the practitioners. 4. Open Filing history to read the latest reports. The Gazette also publishes formal insolvency notices. Companies House does not check the accuracy of what companies file, but it is the official public record and the best place to start.
